I will present a theoretical study of vortex matter in the layered superconductor 2H-NbSe2. The study was driven by unusual experimental results demonstrating the emergence of a tri-critical point in the vortex matter phase diagram. Our long-term goal is to explain the mechanism underlying this phenomenon, which can be manipulated by controlling the system geometry and impurity density. Our work involves exploring the different emergent vortex phases using a Monte-Carlo simulation, and identifying their characterizing properties.
