I will discuss the existence of a novel approximately conserved charge associated with black branes in $3+1$ spacetime dimensions. I will argue that the charge is associated to a particular type of super translation horizon symmetry which has recently been discussed in the literature. The charge is referred to as enstrophy due to its relation to a hydrodynamic quantity of the same name.
