Abstract

Dark matter (DM) could be produced at the LHC if it interacts weakly with the standard
model (SM) particles. We present the search for DM candidates in association with a vector
boson decaying hadronically based on 36.1 fb −1 data recorded with the ATLAS detector at the
LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. In addition to this, we also present yet unexplored
hypotheses of a new vector boson Z’ produced in association with DM candidates using the
same data sample. No significant excess over the SM prediction is observed. Results are
interpreted in terms of limits on invisible Higgs boson decays into DM particles, constraints on
the parameter space of the simplified vector-mediator model, and a generic upper limit on the
visible cross section for W/Z+DM production. Results of the Z′+DM will be presented in the
framework of several simplified-model scenarios involving DM production in association with the
Z′ boson.
