Properties of 2D films close to the Superconductor Insulator Quantum Phase Transition
Aviad Frydman
Abstract
In disordered superconductors the electronic ground state is the result of a competition between Coulomb interactions disorder induced localization and cooper pairing of electrons In the conflict between these interactions dimensionality plays a special role in determining the possible ground states For 2D the system exhibits a direct superconductor to insulator transition SIT which is a prototype of a quantum phase transition QPT i e a phase transition
