Vacuum Sequestering and conformal symmetry Blackboard talk

After reviewing various aspects of the Cosmological Constant CC problem I will focus on the vacuum contributions coming from the Standard model particles and similar fields and how our present understanding of effective field theory fails to explain the observed CC by many orders of magnitude I will review a recent idea for suppressing the Standard Model like contributions dubbed vacuum sequestering and demonstrate that the heart of the mechanism lies in a spontaneously broken conformal symmetry The talk is a blackboard talk with the opportunity of a lively open discussion
