Abstract

Recently surface codes have become strong candidates to provide platform for quantum computing The idea behind surface code is to stabilize data qubits and to detect quantum errors via the repetitive measurement of a large number of groups of other qubits called stabilizers I will present a suggestion to realize data qubits in terms of Majorana bound states supported by topological nanowires and show how to implement basic code operations i e manipulation and measurements of qubits by means of tunnel conductance probes and charge pumping via single electron transistors This gives a simple scheme that might be close to experimental reach
