Abstract:
Trapped ions based quantum computers (QC) lead the industry in performance from the single qubit level to system-level merits. The key challenge in quantum computing today lies in the path to scaling up the technology while continuously improving control and performance. We will introduce the basics of trapped ions QC, discuss tools and methods developed in recent years for coherent control, sophisticated gates, and our approach for scale-up.
