The minimum admission threshold is a B.Sc. with an average of 80. Admission requires finding a supervisor and obtaining approval from the chairs of the departmental and faculty M.Sc. committees. The departmental M.Sc. committee may set additional admission requirements for applicants without the appropriate background.
The Soft and Biological Matter Physics seminar (203-2-5401/02/03) is the mandatory seminar; note that a different course number must be registered each semester. Changes to compulsory courses require approval from the supervisor, the departmental M.Sc. committee chair, and the faculty M.Sc. committee chair.
