Abstract
Teleparallel theories of gravity have attained a lot of interest nowadays Those theories are based on a specific connection such that the space is globally flat The geometrical framework in this theory is a manifold with zero curvature but with a non zero torsion It turns out that the teleparallel formulation gives the same field equations as General Relativity GR and hence they are equivalent to their classical predictions However the physical interpretation of them is very different In this talk the basis of teleparallel gravity giving a comparison with GR will be dicussed Then some modified teleparallel theories of gravity and their relationship with standard modifications of GR will be presented
