Abstract

The best understood quantum theories of gravity are ones in asymptotically anti de Sitter AdS spacetime which admit holographic dual descriptions as conformal field theories CFTs in one lower dimension The 2 1 dimensional Einstein Hilbert quantum gravity with negative cosmological constant is known to be perturbatively finite but its non perturbative fate is still unknown We address this question by constraining possible two dimensional unitary CFTs based on a set of consistency conditions known as the conformal and modular bootstrap equations Refreshments are served at 15:45
