Lensing and High Redshift Galaxies

As a new faculty member in the department I will present my main research which concentrates on gravitational lensing and lensing related science Lensing enables us to uniquely learn about and map the otherwise unseen dark matter and allows us to detect extremely high redshift faint galaxies unreachable otherwise I will review recent advancements in these fields with an emphasis on our group s contribution and briefly discuss future prospects including towards the launch of JWST
