Abstract

We explore theoretically and experimentally the destructiveness of a nondestructive probing of 87Rb atomic ensemble This kind of measurement is typically performed far off resonance to avoid atom loss However off resonance probing of alkali atoms causes a differential stark shift of the clock transition We demonstrate magic frequencies at which this differential stark shift is cancelled
