Abstract

Instantons are the special classical solutions in Yang Mills theory They play an important role in the explanation of Color Confinement the phenomenon that quarks cannot be isolated singularly In Mathematics Instantons are an important for investigation of Topology of four dimensional Manifolds They help to discover invariants which classify manifolds of a given dimension Recently it has been observed that the instanton part of the partition function in four dimensional Supersymmetric gauge theory coincides with the conformal block in two dimensional Conformal field theory It is important since Conformal field theory is the base of String theory Refreshments are served at 3:20pm
