Abstract

Through holography we now have detailed knowledge of quantum gravity for negative cosmological constant After an exposition of how this is possible I will discuss attempts to transfer our know how to the real world case of a positive cosmological constant The main novelty of a positive C C is that the speed of light barrier prevents any observer from probing all of space This creates a conflict with holography where the entire space or its boundary is the typical arena I will describe my work towards overcoming this conflict within a tailored model involving higher spin gravity I will end with some broad implications of a holographic picture of our Universe in particular vis the fine tuning problems that arise in fundamental physics Refreshments are served at 3:20pm
