Abstract

In this talk I will review the state of the art of ion trap quantum computing with an emphasis on a novel platform which is based on microwave radiation In particular I will introduce a set of techniques that enable universal quantum computing to be carried out using dressed states It will be shown how the presence of dressing fields enables the construction of robust single and multi qubit gates despite the unavoidable presence of magnetic noise Refreshments are served at 3:20pm
