Abstract:
Optically levitated mesoscopic particles offer a promising platform for studying controlled mechanical dynamics at the interface between classical and quantum regimes. This talk discusses experimental approaches toward quantum control in levitated systems, with emphasis on parametric modulation of the trapping potential and feedback cooling. These methods enable controlled manipulation of mechanical states and access to non-Gaussian dynamics, while highlighting current limitations and open challenges on the path toward full quantum control.
