Abstract
There are various types of radio transients related to magnetized compact objects. In the talk, I review the properties of Fast radio bursts (FRBs) and recently discovered Long-period radio transients (LPRTs). I present basic observational facts about these phenomena, discuss several proposed models, and speculate about the possible origin and evolution of the objects behind these spectacular sources. Mainly, I focus on the models in which highly magnetized neutron stars - magnetars, - are involved.
