Abstract

A recent experimental realization of a constrained chain of Rydberg atoms revealed unusual state-fidelity oscillations attributed to the existence of anomalous "quantum scarred" eigenstates. The experiment is well described by a constrained model called the PXP model. In this talk, I couple the PXP model to a small thermal bath to investigate the stability of the scars to the presence of the bath and, conversely, to examine the back-action effects of the scarred states on the thermal bath.
