Abstract

We discuss properties of exponentially expanding de Sitter spacetimes. Examples of such spacetimes include the one our Universe is approaching, and the one that our Universe may have stemmed from in its early era. By exploring simple controllable toy models, we assess the potential role of modern ideas in theoretical physics, such as holographic dualities, toward building a theoretical framework to describe such spacetimes.
