Abstract

We study quasi spiral shocks and cold fronts in the intracluster medium of a galaxy cluster, and their interaction with the virial shock, using a combination of analytic models and hydrodynamic simulations. Observing these cold fronts, for example with eROSITA, can trace the growth of the cluster, gauge previous merger events, and assist in localizing and measuring the virial shock.
