Abstract

We study quarkonium production in jets as a new way of testing Non-Relativistic QCD (NRQCD). In this talk, I will first briefly review soft-collinear effective theory (SCET) and NRQCD, which are used to describe jets and quarkonium production. Then a function called fragmenting jet function (FJF) will be introduced to describe quarkonium distribution in jets, where FJF will be our main analytic tool. In the mean time, Monte Carlo (Madgraph and Pythia) simulations are used to cross check our analytic calculations. Finally, recent measurements of quarkonium production in jets at the LHC will be compared with our results.
