Project description

 

Sttring theory inspires a holographic relation between gravitational theory in 5 dimensional curved space  with a black hole in it and fluids/charged plasma at finite temperature living in 4 dimensional Minkowski space (our world). Particularly, by studying gravitational waves in 5d one can learn about transport properties (viscosity,  conductivities) of  fluids in 4d world. 

Project 1: Learn about interplay between e/m and gravitational waves in 5d Black-Hole AdS space. 

Project 2: Study tidal response of the AdS Black Hole to metric perturbations, beyond Einstein gravity.
