Project description

 

Charged plasma and  neutral fluids in our 4 dimensional world can be holographically related to gravity in a 5 dimensional curved space.  Thus transport properties of the former, such as conductivities and viscosities, could be studied in the framework of Einstein gravity in black hole backgrounds. 

Several exploratory directions are possible and will be discussed with interested student(s). The project(s) are analytical/numerical.
