13.04.12 - Please read and master the topic of phase transitions in one dimension:
the transfer matrix for the Ising model (spin 1/2 and 1), with a magnetic field, XY and Heisenberg model.
In the Ising case, also calculate the spin-spin correlation function.

21.06.12 - On Tuesday June 26, at 1 pm, we shall have 2 lectures:
1) Amir Erez, Random transverse field Ising spin chains,
2) Yair Vardi, Real space renormalization group for the transverse field Ising model.
After these lectures I shall be around to advise the future lecturers.
All the other lectures will be on Sept. 4, starting at 1 pm.
during the term there will be several home asignments, and each student will also be requested to make a presentation.
