Title:
Colliding stellar winds in binaries of massive stars:  theory and multi-wavelength observations

Abstract:
One of the main properties of massive stars is a very intense, highly supersonic outflow of gas.   If massive stars belong to binary systems, the stellar winds can collide and shock waves are formed. I will discuss the hydrodynamics of stellar wind collision and physical processes in colliding stellar winds, such as gas heating and acceleration of particles in the shocks, formation of dust and generation of X-ray, gamma-ray, radio and infrared emission.  I will review observational data on this emission.
